| Wolfsburg kicked off the weekend's Bundesliga action, but Felix Magath's men could only manage a goalless draw against lowly Augsburg in Bavaria. The game was a tight encounter throughout, but both sides fashioned a couple of chances. Aristide Bance came close to giving the hosts the lead shortly after kick-off with a 25-yard deflected effort, and at the other end Diego failed to test Mohamed Amsif with a weak effort after receiving the ball inside the area from Vieirinha. The visitors began to press harder for the opener as the match wore on, and Thomas Kahlenbeg saw a goal-bound header well saved by Amsif. They spent the latter stages of the encounter camped outside the Augsburg box, but were unable to convert their territorial advantage into goals. This result leaves Wolfsburg in ninth place. Augsburg, meanwhile, look set to have another relegation battle on their hands, and languish in 15th place. |

| Borussia Monchengladbach's awkward start to the new season continued as the Foals crashed to a 3-2 home defeat to Nurnberg, who remain unbeaten. Timm Klose gave the Bavarians the lead just after the quarter-hour mark by heading home a Hiroshi Kiyotake free kick, and the hosts were truly up against it when the Japanese schemer swung in a corner which Timmy Simons nodded past Marc Andre ter Stegen. However, Gladbach soon fought back, and were handed a lifeline on the stroke of half-time when Luuk de Jong tapped in his first goal for the club. Shortly after the break, the equaliser followed, with Granit Xhaka, another new boy, sending a powerful left-footed effort into the back of the net from the edge of the box. However, the parity did not last long, and just two minutes later, Kiyotake stole all three points with a magnificent individual effort. |

| Stuttgart claimed their first point of the season on Saturday, but would have been hoping for more when they entertained Fortuna Dusseldorf. Tamas Hajnal came close to breaking the deadlock with a well-placed effort from 30 yards which Fabian Giefer did well to tip around the post, while Andriy Voronin squandered a golden opportunity to put the visitors in front from a matter of yards. Cacau almost stole all three points at the match wore on, but Giefer produced an excellent reaction save to keep the scores level and ensure the Ruhr side returned home with a point to their name. |

| Hannover's flying start to the new season continued as Mirko Slomka's men claimed a dramatic 3-2 win over Werder Bremen at the AWD Arena. Szabolcs Huszti had the hosts in front after just six minutes, and Thomas Schaaf's men had a mountain to climb a matter of seconds later when Leon Andreasen headed home at the near post. However, the visitors were handed a lifeline on 26 minutes, when Aaron Hunt pulled one back from the spot, and Kevin De Bruyne levelled the scores just 16 minutes from time with a fine left-footed finish. However, three minutes into injury time Huszti scored a spectacular bicycle kick to win the match, but soon picked up a second booking for removing his shirt. |

| Schalke claimed their second win of the season on Sunday evening when they travelled to Bavaria to face newly-promoted Greuther Furth. After a goalless first period, Julian Draxler lit the game up with an incredible opener. The 18-year-old cut in from his berth on the left wing and unleashed a ferocious right-footed shot which leapt up over Max Grun and into the top corner. However, Schalke were being oddly wasteful, but two minutes from time Lewis Holtby put the game beyond all doubt by sweeping hope Tranquillo Barnetta's cut-back. |

| Freiburg got Sunday's action off to a terrific start by edging an eight-goal thriller with Hoffenheim at the Mage Solar Stadion. Things started brilliantly for the visitors, who found themselves ahead after a matter of seconds through a Matthieu Delpierre strike, but the hosts soon recovered and had turned the match on its head thanks goals from Karim Guede and Max Kruse on 17 and 27 minutes respectively. Hoffenheim refused to give up, and equalised shortly after the break through Boris Vukcevic. Not to be undone, Fallou Diagne put the hosts back in front, but Takashi Usami looked to have snatched a point through a 76th minute leveller. However, it was not to be for Markus Babbel's men, and Cedrick Makiadi and Sebastian Freis secured a well-earned victory with dramatic strikes with full-time approaching. |

| Hamburg's miserable start to the season continued, with Thorsten Fink's side slipping to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt. The hosts roared into an early lead though Takashi Inui, who capped a superb run by curling the ball past Rene Adler in the Hamburg goal, and Olivier Occean made it two soon after with a tap in. Heiko Westermann capitalised on some slack marking from a corner to give the visitors hope on the stroke of half-time, but their task was made all the harder when Petr Jiracek received his marching orders for a clumsy tackle soon after. Accordingly, Stefan Aigner restored his side's two-goal advantage minutes after the restart, and although Son Heung-Min pulled one back, Frankfurt were able to hold on to record their third win from as many matches. |
