The reigning German champions face a difficult opening match against the Green-Whites on Friday as they look to secure a third consecutive league crown
Speaking in a interview with Waz, the trainer admitted that he had been disappointed at some aspects of pre-season, but overall his squad was ready for new campaign's curtain raiser.
"I do not expect us to play our best match of the season against Bremen, but the best game that we are able to on the day," said Klopp.
"I am satisfied with the state of the squad, but the first match is always a challenge."
Klopp then added that there is added pressure on his squad being the defending champions, and urged his team to fight for their Bundesliga crown "like it was their first" and use the fans' passion as a source of motivation.
"Our fans know winning consecutive titles was exceptional, but they also know that this a new season," he noted.
"It feels good being double champions, but this year we must challenge ourselves to remain greedy, like we are striving to win our first title.
"It [the fans' support] is overwhelming. I don't win or lose games alone, we do it as a team. When we win I celebrate as much as the fans, but when we lose I am more disappointed than anyone.
"Many people think this year the title is going to either end up here [at Dortmund] or in Munich, but there are others that will challenge, such as Schalke.
"If we were guaranteed fourth spot now we would not be satisfied, but no one ever knows what is going to happen."
Kick-off at Signal Iduna Park is scheduled for 18:30CET.
