thumbnail Hello,

The former Borussia Mochengladbach man impressed in the cup outing, and is raring to go ahead of the season curtain raiser against Werder Bremen on Friday

Marco Reus is desperate to get the Bundesliga season underway after bagging his first goal for Borussia Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal against Oberneuland on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who joined the German champions from Borussia Monchengladbach for 17 million over the summer, struck first in BVB's comfortable 3-0 win at the Weserstadion.

As well as being happy to have put in a good showing, Reus admitted that he cannot wait to play in front of a full house at Signul Iduna Park when his club face Werder Bremen on Friday night.

"I was pleased that I had a good game'', he is quoted as saying by derwestern.de. ''To get the early goal was very important and it was a great way to start the game.

"Quite simply, these fans are unbelievably great," he continued to Bild. "It was a great taster ahead of Friday, when we will play against Werder in front of 80,000. I really can't wait."

The season curtain raiser against the Bremen side kicks off at 20:30CET.
