Huntelaar warns rivals: I can still improve
The Netherlands international was Bundesliga top scorer last season, but he has insisted he will do everything possible to perform even better in the coming campaign
Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has claimed he can still make improvements to his game. The 28-year-old enjoyed a sensational season in 2011-12, netting 28 goals to finish as top-scorer of the Bundesliga, having helped propel his side into a Champions League place.
Despite his impressive record, the Netherlands international has insisted that there are still areas to work on in his game, and believes he can beat last season’s tally in the coming campaign.
“I still have a lot of room for improvement,” he said via social network site Twitter.
Huntelaar was taking part in cardiopulmonary testing with the rest of Die Konigsblauen, and he confirmed to fans that the results had been positive, adding: “Lung function tests went very well.”
The former Real Madrid and AC Milan man enjoyed the most fruitful campaign of his career last season.
However, the forward insisted he was determined to reach 29 goals or above in the coming campaign, telling Bild: “I will again give everything to score as many goals as possible."
