thumbnail Hello,

The 23-year-old Germany international declared on Tuesday that he has no desire to leave the BayArena this summer but the Bavarians are insisting otherwise

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has claimed that Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender wants to move to the Allianz Arena.

The versatile Germany international stated on Tuesday that he is perfectly happy at the BayArena in an effort to quell speculation linking him with a €25 million switch to Bavaria.

However, Rummenigge has now stirred things up by suggesting that Bender has his heart set on joining the Champions League runners-up.

"We know that the player is very interested in coming to Munich," he told Dapd. "But I can't tell if that will lead to a transfer. It depends if there is a price both clubs can say 'yes' to.

"These days one needs to have some patience ..."

The 23-year-old Bender, who starred for Germany at Euro 2012, joined Leverkusen from 1860 Munich in 2009, and is from Rosenheim, the same Bavarian town as Bayern star Bastian Schweinsteiger.
