Vasco's Fagner set for Wolfsburg move, president confirms

The 23-year old looks certain to become the Bundesliga side's seventh signing of the summer after the president of his current club revealed a deal is imminent
Vasco da Gama president Roberto Dinamite is resigned to losing defender Fagner to Wolfsburg, after the player made it clear he wanted to leave the club.

The full-back, who had an ill-fated stint in Europe with PSV during the 2007-08 season, is set to become Felix Magath's second Brazilian signing of the transfer window, after Naldo arrived from Werder Bremen last week.

Dinamite has confirmed that his club could do little to stop the 23-year-old's Bundesliga switch, after he expressed his desire to leave Sao Januario.

"I've spoken to the people involved and the situation is irreversible," he is quoted as saying by Bild. "Fagner has made a decision and we have to respect his wishes."

Wolfsburg start their Bundesliga campaign away at Stuttgart on August 25.
