Bayer Leverkusen director Wolfgang Holzhauser has insisted that Germany international Andre Schurrle is not for sale after rejecting an improved bid from Chelsea.
The 21-year-old forward, who played a bit-part role in Germany's Euro 2012 campaign, has been earmarked as one of Chelsea's top targets as they look to rebuild their squad for the forthcoming season.
It had been reported that Chelsea returned with an improved offer of €23 million up front, with further add-ons based on appearances, after their initial €20m offer was rejected, but Holzhauser was defiant when questioned regarding any further negotiations.
Holzhauser told Kicker: "The offer was worth €20+ million. We do not want to talk anymore."
Leverkusen's sporting director Rudi Voller reiterated Schurrle will not be swapping the BayArena for Stamford Bridge this summer after he claimed the players lined up to replace the Germany international were too costly.

Voller added: "The players on the market are too expensive, and we would have replaced him with a worse player who is overpriced."
"There is no alternative to our decision because we would not be able to get an adequate replacement. I have also discussed this with Andre."
With their chances of signing Schurrle appearing to slip away, Chelsea may turn their attention back to Hulk following earlier rumours that a £38m fee had been agreed with Porto.
