Cacau plots Stuttgart exit
The striker claims he is open to offers after being informed by coach Bruno Labbadia that he is no longer guaranteed a starting place in the side
Cacau has admitted that his time with Stuttgart is nearing an end after failing to receive assurances about his long-term future at the club. The 31-year-old forward joined VfB in 2003 and has since gone on to make over 200 Bundesliga appearances for the side, while becoming a naturalised German and representing the country at the 2010 World Cup.
However, he was dropped from the provisional Mannschaft squad for Euro 2012, and after being told by Stuttgart boss Bruno Labbadia that he will not be a certified starter next season, he now expects to leave the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
"I spoke with Bruno Labbadia and he could not promise me a regular place in the side," Cacau told Bild. "I am open to offers from other clubs.
"There have been some enquiries, but I haven't received anything concrete yet. It's possible that I could stay in Germany but I do not need to."
