The Belgian forward is eager to prove his worth to Die Fohlen ahead of the new season, declaring his availability to start games in the league as well as in European competition

Igor de Camargo is eyeing a first-team spot at Borussia Monchengladbach, following the departure of Marco Reus to Borussia Dortmund.

The 28-year-old has staked his claim for a place in the side, while also acknowledging team-mate Mike Hanke's injury and Luuk de Jong protracted transfer negotiations from Twente.

"The coach can have faith in me next term," the striker, who was born in Brazil, told Bild. "The others must be better than me, and I know what I can bring to the team."

Gladbach qualified for next season's Champions League at the first time of asking under coach Lucien Favre, and De Camargo is eager to lend a hand in his team's European endeavour.

"I'm familiar with both the Europa League and the Champions League. I also want to help the team in the Bundesliga - we only collected nine points from our last eight league games, something I am sure we must improve on."

De Camargo contributed five goals in 29 apperances last season to aid in his side's successful quest for European qualification.
