The Brazilian was convicted of arson in relation to a fire that occurred at a rented villa in the Grunwald suburb of Munich last September, which he was ruled to have started deliberately.
A German court found the player guilty, and sentenced him to three years and nine months in prison on Wednesday after a claim of mental health issues was dismissed.
After the sentence has been served, it has been revealed that the 22-year-old will be deported back to his home country, due to the length of the term being over three years.
Former Bayern striker Elber expressed his disappointment at the verdict, and hoped that Breno will receive the help he needs to overcome the incident.
"His career is over. This is a disaster. Breno is not a bad boy. Jail will not help him. The boy is sick, he has problems, he needs help," the 39-year-old told Bild.
The 22-year-old's legal representative Werner Leitner insisted that Breno will remain calm over the incident.
"It is a difficult hour for Breno, but he is very composed. I think he is stable and will survive the first [few] difficult days. Life goes on, in every crisis there is a chance."
