Rummenigge: Bayern Munich should not celebrate DFB Pokal

In the event of a victory tomorrow, Rummenigge has advised the players to keep calm in order to prepare for the Champions League final next Saturday
Bayern Munich Chief Executive Officer, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has spoken out against his side over-indulging celebrations in the result of a win in the DFB-Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow, with the Champions League decider against Chelsea looming next week.

"There will be no club visits and the like", the 56-year-old told Bild on Friday afternoon.

"The players know best, it is advisable, after the final, the preparation for the Champions League final needs to begin."

Rummenigge was speaking from experience. In 2010, Bayern won their 15th DFB-Pokal against Werder Bremen, and the side were seen partying in the city. A week later, however, the Bavarians lost the Champions League final against Inter Milan.

Bayern face Dortmund in the final of the DFB-Pokal tomorrow in Berlin, before facing Chelsea next Saturday in Munich.
