Rummenigge: Robben will extend Bayern contract

The former Germany international striker has poured cold water over reports that the Dutchman could be on his way out the door following a scuffle with Franck Ribery

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has quashed rumours that Arjen Robben is prepared to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, claiming the Dutchman is on the verge of extending his contract.

The winger was believed to be close to signing a new deal until 2015, but reportedly grew hesitant to commit his long-term future to the club after being slapped by Franck Ribery during the half-time of the match against Real Madrid in Munich.

And while Uli Hoeness recently admitted that he was unsure whether the 28-year-old would extend his contract, Rummenigge has come out claiming that neither Robben nor any of Bayern's key figures will be sold in the summer.

"I guarantee that no stars will leave," he told Bild. "The agreement [with Robben] is as good as signed. Arjen will stay at Bayern in the long-term."

Robben's current contract is set to expire in 2013, but his extension is expected to add an additional two years to his deal. In 33 games in all competitions this season, the Netherlands international has scored 17 goals and given nine assists.
