Marin reveals he snubbed Tottenham in order to secure 'dream' Chelsea move
Germany international winger is set to move to Stamford Bridge after three years with the Green-Whites, and believes his new club will offer a new challenge
Werder Bremen attacker Marko Marin has expressed his delight after sealing his "dream" move to Chelsea, and revealed that he snubbed Tottenham in order to secure a transfer to the Blues. The Germany international penned a five-year contract with Roberto Di Matteo's side after it was confirmed on Saturday that the 23-year-old will arrive at Stamford Bridge.
The winger, who is believed to have cost Chelsea in the region of £6.5 million (€8m), stated that he is relishing the prospect of representing the Blues.
"Chelsea are my dream club," Marin told Sport Bild.
"I'm happy that I get the chance to play for them. It is a challenge for me.
"Tottenham Hotspur were also interested, but I opted for Chelsea, because they suit me well."
Marin has made 87 appearances in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen, scoring eight goals.
