Dortmund players laugh at Bayern's mind games, says Watzke

The BVB supremo has stressed that the reigning champions are not impressed with their rivals' attempts to pile the pressure ahead of Wednesday's crunch encounter
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke is eagerly anticipating Wednesday's Bundesliga match at home against title rivals Bayern Munich, and added that the reigning champions laugh at Bayern's mind games ahead of the crucial meeting.

Bayern players and officials have had plenty to say about their title rivals in recent weeks, but Watzke has made it clear that the Dortmund players are not being distracted by their rivals' comments.

"You don't win a game with psychological games," Watzke said in an interview with Sky90.

"I simply don't believe that their comments will affect us. Our players can't stop laughing about it. This is a completely different generation than those of the past.

"These guys just want to play football and win the next game."

Dortmund defend a three-point lead over Bayern atop the table in Wednesday's encounter at the Signal Iduna Park. And Watzke has made it clear that BVB's fans are desperate to support their team.

"We received 450,000 ticket requests for this game. And you can be sure that there were a lot of people who didn't even bother trying, too."

Wednesday's game kicks off at 20.00CET.
