The 23-year-old feels that his side's local rivals will soon drop out of the title race, and believes that Champions League qualification would be a success for BVB
Borussia Dortmund forward Kevin Grosskreutz has poured scorn on their local rivals Schalke's title bid, stating his belief that Huub Stevens' side do not have what it takes to win the Bundesliga.
Schalke and Borussia Dortmund both sit level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the table, but Grosskretuz believes that the Vetlins Arena side will soon drop away from the top two.
"At the beginning of the season, no-one expected that the team would be so high in the table," the life-long Borussia Dortmund fan mused to Bild.
"But the Blues are not champions anyway. Bayern are another favourite. If we finish second or third, and qualify for the Champions League, that would be a huge success."
Borussia Dortmund travel to Nurnberg on Friday as they look to keep up their bid to retain their Bundesliga title.
