Coach Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Zorc sign contract extensions with Borussia Dortmund

The club's decision to announce the deals on Facebook could be a potential dig at Bayern Munich, who angered fans with a publicity stunt on the social networking site last week

Borussia Dortmund have announced that both coach Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Zorc have penned contract extensions with the club.

The pair's previous deals were both set to expire in June 2014 but they have now signed on for a further two seasons.

"We are very pleased that we could extend the contracts with both at such an early stage," Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told the club's official website. "Both have done a great job in recent years.

"In our talks with both Jurgen Klopp and Michael Zorc we had the impression that both feel a tremendous desire to help shape the future of Borussia Dortmund."

Klopp arrived at the Westfalenstadion from Mainz in 2008 and led the club to the Bundesliga title last season.

Zorc, meanwhile, represented Dortmund for the entirety of his 17-year playing career before taking up the role of sporting director upon his retirement from the game in 1998.

The German champions made the contract renewal announcements via their Facebook page, which may have been a subtle dig at rivals Bayern Munich, who last week angered their own fans with a publicity stunt related to the launch of a new application on the social networking site.
