Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze ruled out of Hoffenheim clash

The youngster will be rested for at least another week as he attempts to recover from a persistent injury
Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze will be omitted from Jurgen Klopp's squad to face Hoffenheim on Saturday.

The 19-year-old has been suffering from an adductor problem as of late and the trainer confirmed to Sky Sports News HD that the player would take no part in his team's next match.

Gotze missed Dortmund's 5-1 Bundesliga win away to Hamburg on Sunday, in which his deputy, Jakub Blaszczykowski, scored two goals and assisted another. Goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller also was sidelined, due to a back injury, but is expected to return to face Hoffenheim.

Following the weekend's results, BVB moved level on points with joint-leaders Bayern Munich and Schalke, with a goal difference of four separating the Bavarians and the title holders.

Kick-off for the Hoffenheim match, which will be held in Dortmund, is scheduled for 15.30CET on Saturday.
