Former Brazil international Giovane Elber, who wore the Bayern Munich jersey from 1997 until 2003, has advised the Bundesliga giants to make a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko at the end of the season.

Bayern chairman Uli Hoeness recently revealed that FCB are looking to add a top-class striker to their squad ahead of the 2012-13 season, and Elber feels that the Bosnia & Herzegovina international could be the right man.

"He [Dzeko] is definitely a candidate, in my opinion. He has already proven his worth in the Bundesliga," Elber was quoted as saying by TZ.

"And if you have the chance between warming the bench at Manchester City or joining Bayern Munich, moving to Bayern is the preferred option, right?"

Elber then went on to say that he feels Werder Bremen attacker Claudio Pizarro would also be a good option for the Allianz Arena club.

"Claudio would fit in very well at Bayern. He has a lot of quality and is at an age where he doesn't necessarily needs to play every game."

Bayern previously showed an interest in signing Dzeko when he was still at Wolfsburg, while Pizarro played for FCB from 2001 until 2007. A recent report also signled out Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov as a potential summer signing for the Bavarians.
