Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery disappointed with Marco Reus' decision to join Borussia Dortmund

The France international would liked to have seen the Germany starlet join the Bavarians, while Badstuber believes Reus would have fit in well at the Allianz Arena
Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery has expressed his disappointment with Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marco Reus' decision to join Borussia Dortmund at the end of the 2011-12 campaign.

Reus had also attracted the interest of Bayern, but Dortmund revealed on Wednesday that the Germany international has signed a contract with BVB until June 2017.

"It's a real shame. I would have preferred it had he decided to join Bayern," Ribery was quoted as saying by TZ.

Defender Holger Badstuber was equally discouraged that FCB have missed out on the 22-year-old, but respected Reus' decision.

"The player has made his decision and will have good reasons for it. We can only respect his decision. It's a shame though as he is a young German player and would have fitted in very well at Bayern."

Dortmund reportedly paid Gladbach a transfer fee in the region of €17 million for the services of Reus.
