thumbnail Hello,

The Bavarian club's president has voiced his opinion that BVB will now have an advantage in the Bundesliga following their exit from all European competition this season

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness feels that Borussia Dortmund's Champions League elimination could prove to be a disadvantage for the Bavarians as they look to re-claim the Bundesliga title.

Dortmund were beaten 3-2 by Olympique de Marseille on Tuesday and consequently finished last in Group F, and Hoeness has stated his belief that it's an advantage for Jurgen Klopp's men as they can now solely focus on the Bundesliga.

"Borussia Dortmund can now just focus on the league. Every time we head away in Europe, they can just lay down and relax," Hoeness was quoted as saying by Bild.

"We have failed to gather a big lead over our domestic rivals in the opening months of the season. The fact that Dortmund have now been eliminated from the Champions League is a bad thing for us."

Bayern currently sit top of the Bundesliga table with 31 points from 15 games and have a one-point lead over second-placed Dortmund.
