Star of the U-17 World Cup set to pick World Cup semi-finalists as opposed to the nation of his heritage, according to his father
It had been rumoured that Turkey would attempt to persuade the 17-year-old, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, to feature for the Crescent Stars at full international level.
His father, Sebhattin Yesil, has revealed that his son will choose Germany though, saying: "We had talks in 2010 with the Turkish association, just to listen. My son says quite clearly that he would rather play for Germany."
Yesil caught the eye during May's European Championship, where he netted three goals as Germany finished as runners up, and impressed once more in this month's U-17 World Cup, where he found the back of the net six times as his side finished in third place.
Yesil has scored 19 goals in 20 games for the German U-17 side, but has yet to make his full debut for Leverkusen.
