The Croatian striker is delighted to be back in training for his side following a long-term knee injury which kept him sidelined for the bulk of the 2010-11 season

Bayern Munich striker Ivica Olic has returned to training for the first time since October following surgery to an injured knee.

The 31-year-old striker suffered meniscus and cartilage damage to his left knee eight months ago and missed the rest of Bayern's campaign.

Speaking to Bayern TV, the Croatian forward confirmed his delight at being able to get himself back on course following the long-term absence.

"I have waited almost eight months to train with the team again and I am very happy to have gone through the whole session," Olic said.

Coach Jupp Heynckes was pleased to see Olic on the training ground and is expecting good progress from his forward.

"I like players like Olic who work for the team," said the coach.
