Turkey international has been adjudged as the best footballer in the German top flight last season, helping his team to the title before leaving for the La Liga giants
The 22-year-old midfielder, who has signed for Spanish giants Real Madrid, played an integral role in Dortmund’s title winning campaign, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 30 league appearances. It was the German side’s first championship success since 2001-02.
Sahin topped the survey conducted by the esteemed German magazine, amassing 46.1 per cent of all the votes. His Dortmund team-mate Mario Gotze came second with 18.7 per cent of the votes and Bayer Leverkusen's Arturo Vidal was ranked third with 7.4 per cent.
Bayern Munich stars Arjen Robben and Mario Gomez came fourth and fifth respectively.
