Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has warned Schalke that while they are interested in bringing talented goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to the Allianz Arena, they will not conform to extraordinary demands.
The 25-year-old put in a stellar performance in his side's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie, sparking interest from a number of clubs throughout Europe.
Bayern have expressed a desire to keep Neuer in the Bundesliga and Hoeness has encouraged Schalke to be reasonable and avoid overstating the sale price of the club captain when the two clubs begin negotiations.
"We want Manuel," Hoeness told TZ daily.
"When there's a desire, we can find a solution but Schalke management must now not come up with an astronomical sum."
The German international recently indicated that he would not extend his contract beyond this year with Schalke, but with the increasing interest in his services, they may be reluctant to part with Neuer.
