Schalke director Horst Heldt has told Bayern Munich to forget about signing Benedikt Hoewedes in the summer.
The 23-year-old has been linked with Bayern who are looking for defenders after conceding 34 goals in 28 games thus far.
Speculation increased after the defender's agent was in Munich discussing an extension for his other client Toni Kroos.
But, Heldt has closed the door on any interest from Munich.
"We do not want Hoewedes to go. Benedikt has a long contract with us and there are no discussions," Heldt told Kicker.
Hoewedes' agent Volker Struth echoed Heldt's statements, saying: "He feels happy at Schalke and wants to continue."
Hoewedes has scored one goal in 26 league appearances this season.
