Highly rated attacker Mario Gomez could be on his way out of German title-holders Bayern Munich as Serie A side Juventus have shown an interest in signing the Germany international, according to a report in Corriere dello Sport.

The Vecchia Signora have been in the market for a new attacker for quite a while and had initially set their sights on Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko. However, Juventus are reluctant to meet Wolfsburg's demands for the Bosnia international.

Therefore, they've turned their attention elsewhere and technical director Giuseppe Marotta supposedly sees the 25-year-old Gomez as the perfect addition to the Juve squad.

Gomez joined Bayern Munich from Stuttgart in the summer of 2009, but failed to make an impact in his first season at FC Hollywood. The striker has been in superb form though this term and his good performances haven't gone unnoticed elsewhere.

The prolific attacker has an ongoing contract with Bayern, but the Bundesliga champions are supposedly ready to cash in on Gomez, thus paving the way for Dzeko to move to Munich.
