It appears that Koeln president Wolfgang Overath will show the club's general manager Michael Meier the exit door tomorrow.Things appear to be taking a turn for the better at FC Koeln. Die Geissboecke managed an excellent 1-0 away win at Stuttgart at the weekend and their management crisis looks to be nearing a solution with general manager Michael Meier set to be the sacrificial lamb.
Bild are reporting that Wolfgang Overath, who retracted his resignation as club president last week, is set to relieve Meier of his duties in the near future
"We will sit down together very soon and conduct discussions with Michael Meier," Overath told the newspaper.
The general concensus among the media is that the decision to fire Meier has already been taken and that the crisis-summit will be held tomorrow. Meier will be given the opportunity to stand down voluntarily or face having it done for him.
The 61-year-old Meier came under great pressure to step down at last week's Annual General Meeting and as such any decision to sack him would be popular with the club's members and supporters.
