Chaos reigns at FC Koeln as their president Wolfgang Overath is considering withdrawing his resignation ahead of tonight's AGM.FC Koeln appear to be lurching from one crisis to another this season, with the latest events going right to the very top of the club. Ahead of tonight's Annual General Meeting, there is uncertainty over the future of 67-year-old president Wolfgang Overath, who had tendered his resignation but now seems to be reconsidering his decision.
"I am still wavering," Overath told Bild.
Overath, who has been club president for six years, received support from managing director Claus Horstmann, who remarked: "It is very important that he continues. I am almost completely convinced that he will."
The club are desperate to keep Overath at the helm as he has extensive business contacts, which have proved vital to the club's financial stability. However, the lifelong Koeln supporter receives no salary for his services to die Geissboecke.
It has been an equally difficult time on the field for Koeln who are bottom of the Bundesliga after 12 games, with a mere eight points to their name.
