Ambitious Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have made a rather disappointing start to the season and have yet to pick up their first point of the season. Head coach Steve McClaren is eager to leave the opening two rounds of the season behind him and has set his sights on a good result against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.
"That we let the games in Munich and against Mainz get away from us is something that we only have ourselves to blame for. Things like that just shouldn’t happen! I’m interested to see how the team reacts in Dortmund. For me, our season begins on Saturday," said McClaren on the official Wolfsburg website.
"Of course I’ve heard about the atmosphere in Dortmund. I think it’s known as ‘The Wall’, which really reminds me of the stadium in Liverpool. In both of our games so far in the league this season we have experienced great atmospheres, in Munich just as much as at home against Mainz.
"That’s exactly what makes football so attractive. On Saturday we won’t just be playing against a team but also against a bunch of amazing fans. To pass the test, my team are going to have to be mentally strong."
