Mats Hummels has spoken out in support of the planned boycott of the Ruhr derby by his own fans.

"The fans understand that it's too expensive," the 21-year-old told 90elf. "I would return my ticket."
Dortmund fans have planned a boycott after Schalke decided to increase ticket prices for away fans to €22 for standing room. The price hike is approximately 50% on the norm. Many Dortmund fans purchased tickets before the increase, but are now considering returning theirs for a refund in protest.
This fall's Ruhr derby will be held on September 19 in Gelsenkirchen.
