Michael Ballack will not only take his captaincy back upon his return to the German national team, he will also reclaim his favoured No. 13.Germany and Bayern Munich star Thomas Mueller will have no qualms surrendering his No.13 shirt to Michael Ballack, the young attacker has told Koelner Express and Tz.
"When Micha comes back he will probably reclaim it," he said. "Then he can have it, because I have no preference."
"Sure, the number fit well because of Gerd," Mueller commented, referencing the great German striker Gerd Mueller, who also wore the No. 13. However, the 20-year old forward will likely surrender his shirt when Ballack makes his next appearance for die Mannschaft.
Ballack, 33, will have to wait another month to reclaim his favoured number, as well as his captaincy. The veteran midfielder has been ruled out of his country's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Belgium and Azerbaijan due to fitness concerns.
