Following a masterful performance in yesterday's 4-0 victory over Qarabaq, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa has set his sights on his team's Bundesliga opener against Bayer Leverkusen.
When asked to comment on his form, the Japan international replied: "I hope that it will continue. I look forward to the Bundesliga start."
Coach Juergen Klopp was characteristically reserved in his praise: "I was already aware that Shinji can play football."
Kagawa, 21, joined Dortmund from Osaka this summer, at a cost of just €350,000. He has already displaced Tamas Hajnal in his team's starting line-up, having had an impressive pre-season. The talented playmaker bagged a brace yesterday, and nearly grabbed a hat-trick.
Dortmund kick off their 2010-11 Bundesliga campaign this Sunday as they host Leverkusen.
