"I am raring to get a new role in the team," Almeida told Bild.
"I am looking to change a few things ahead of the new season. I am looking forward to scoring lots of goals and I want to help the team achieve success.
"I want to play a key role for Werder," he explained. "I was able to experience a lot of things when on duty for Portugal at the World Cup, which will also push me forward in daily life."
"I am convinced I am a stronger player now."
Since moving to Germany, Almeida has scored 32 goals in 103 Bundesliga appearances. He may have spent much of last season serving as a substitute, but with the possibility of Mesut Oezil leaving Bremen, the striker may be given more playing time in the near future.
