Fiorentina Join Race For Wolfsburg Star Zvjezdan Misimovic - Report
The Bosnian has now also attracted the interest of Fiorentina...
By Stefan Coerts
The Viola hugely disappointed in the 2009-10 Serie A campaign and newly appointed head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is eager to add some fresh blood to his squad this summer in order to be competitive again in the new season.
Mihajlovic apparently considers Misimovic to be a useful addition to his squad and Fiorentina could decide to make a move for the gifted playmaker in the summer transfer window.
Misimovic joined Wolfsburg from Nuernberg in the summer of 2008 and has since developed into a key player at the Wolfe. However, the 28-year-old reportedly wants a new challenge and could be on the move this summer.
His current contract runs until the summer of 2011, but Wolfsburg could be tempted to cash in on Misimovic if an offer in the region of €10 million comes in.
Fiorentina face stiff competition in the race for the midfielder's services though. Atletico Madrid and Schalke are also keeping tabs on Misimovic.
