Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy left Real Madrid for an adventure at Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV in the winter transfer window and the prolific hitman is eager to stay at his current team for several more years.

"My professional career isn't nearing it's end just yet. There are a lot of opportunities at Hamburger SV and I'm eager to stay here for two or three more seasons," said van Nistelrooy to Bild.

"I know that HSV have the ambition to play Champions League football on a regular basis. It's been a while since the club have won any silverware and it's our goal to change that.

"I've been crowned the league's leading scorer in Holland, England and Spain, but that has never been a real goal for me. It just happened. The important thing is that I'm always ready when I get a chance and that's what I'll try to do at HSV, too."

Van Nistelrooy has so far scored two goals in three Bundesliga appearances for the Rothosen.
