By Stefan Coerts
According to a report in Berliner Zeitung, Europa League hopefuls Sporting CP are considering making a move for highly rated Hertha Berlin midfielder Raffael in the summer transfer window.
The Lisbon side have been in rather disappointing form this season and head coach Carlos Carvalhal is already planning for next term. The Sporting gaffer reportedly sees the 24-year-old Raffael as a useful addition to his squad.
Raffael started his European career at Swiss side Zurich and joined Hertha in January 2008. The attacking midfielder has since developed into an important first team player at the Alte Dame.
The Brazilian midfielder is one of the few Hertha players who have been performing at their normal level this season. Raffael has made 68 league appearances for the beleaguered Bundesliga side so far, scoring 13 goals in the process.
