Aaron Hunt Set To Extend Werder Bremen Stay
By Stefan Coerts
Feb 24, 2010 12:03:00 PM
The highly rated attacker is on the verge of signing a new contract...
Versatile attacker Aaron Hunt has been in great form for Werder Bremen this season and the German international's good performances haven't gone unnoticed elsewhere.Several other Bundesliga sides were believed to be keen to lure Hunt away from Werder on a Bosman move at the end of this season, but the 23-year-old has now made it clear that he will stay at the Hanseaten.
"We have already agreed terms. It's only a matter of putting my signature under the contract. I will sign a new contract that runs until the summer of 2014," Hunt was quoted as saying by Weser Kurier.
"I hope that this will also be a signal for other players such as Mesut Oezil. I'd be delighted to see him stay in Bremen, too."
Playmaker Oezil's contract runs until 2011, but the left footed midfielder is continually being linked with a move to a bigger club.
