Bundesliga table toppers Bayer Leverkusen have completed the transfer of Brazilian youngster Lucas dos Santos Rocha da Silva from Portuguesa for an undisclosed fee, according to a report in Express.
The 18-year-old centre back has signed a contract that runs until the summer of 2012 at the Werkself. Lucas will join the German side at the end of the current European season.
"Our scouts have watched him several times and were impressed with his abilities. He trained with us once and we were immediately convinced that he adds something to the team," said general director Wolfgang Holzhauser.
"He will stay at his current club until the end of the season before joining us in the summer. We're glad that we have secured the services of such a promising youngster for a reasonable price."
Bayer Leverkusen have a history with Brazilian centre-backs. Player such as Lucio, Cris and Juan have previously worn the shirt of the Werkself.
