However, the minnows won't be too confident that they can take advantage of Bayern's weakened squad after hearing the news that coach Louis van Gaal has decided to hand French international Franck Ribery a starting berth for the first time in four months.
The tricky winger has been plagued by injury trouble this season, but is on his way back again. Ribery previously played 22 minutes against Bremen, half an hour against Mainz and 45 minutes against Wolfsburg last weekend.
“Yes, Franck Ribery will be part of the starting XI against Greuther Furth,” Van Gaal stated after Tuesday’s final pre-match training session.
Bastian Schweinsteiger, Hans-Joerg Butt, Miroslav Klose and Daniel van Buyten will all sit out on Wednesday's game due to various reasons.
