Daniel van Buyten - Bayern Munich
German giants Bayern Munich and Belgian defender Daniel van Buyten have successfully completed contract negotiations. The centre-back has signed a new contract until 2012 at the Bundesliga outfit.

The former Olympique Marseille defender's previous contract was due to expire at the end of the season and Van Buyten was being linked with a move to Lazio in the past couple of weeks.

"We have a great team with a very good and smart coach. I'm very happy at Bayern and I'm absolutely delighted with this contract extension," said Van Buyten on the official Bayern website.

The 32-year-old defender joined Bayern from Hamburger SV in the summer of 2006 and has since made 88 Bundesliga appearances for FCB. He hasn't missed a single league match so far this term and has already scored five goals.
