Hinkel has attracted the interest of Bundesliga side Hertha BSC...

Andreas Hinkel - Celtic
According to a report in Daily Express, beleaguered Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin are closely monitoring the situation of Celtic defender Andreas Hinkel.

The German outfit are struggling to find their best form this season and sit rock bottom in the Bundesliga table halfway the season. Therefore, head coach Friedhelm Funkel is eager to add to his ranks in January.

Hertha have already secured the services of Levan Kobiashvili, Theofanis Gekas and Roman Hubnik and they have now reportedly turned their attention to Hinkel.

The 27-year-old started his professional career at Stuttgart and also played for Spanish side Sevilla before joining Celtic in January 2008. The full-back is now believed to be ready to return to his native country though and Hertha are ready to pounce.

Celtic have reportedly set a €3 million asking price for the defender.
