Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart have secured the services of Juventus defender Cristian Molinaro on a six-month loan deal. The full-back will undergo a medical exam on Tuesday and sign a contract upon completion. The Schwaben have confirmed the deal on their official website.

The 26-year-old defender has lost his spot in the starting XI at Juventus to Italian international Fabio Grosso and is deemed surplus to requirements at the Turin side.

Atletico Madrid appeared to be on the verge of signing Molinaro last weekend, but the defender preferred a move to the German Champions League hopefuls.

"I'm glad to be here and I'm looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga. Stuttgart have under-performed before the winter break. They are a lot better than the league table suggests," said Molinaro to German reporters.
