Official: Alexander Baumjohann Leaves Bayern Munich For Schalke
The highly rated midfielder returns to the club where he started his career...
Ambitious Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 have completed the transfer of young midfielder Alexander Baumjohann from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee.
The young midfielder joined Bayern from Borussia Moenchengladbach on a free transfer last summer, but Baumjohann failed to break into the first team in Bavaria, making only three league appearances for FCB.
Bayer Leverkusen were also believed to be keen on signing the young playmaker, but Baumjohann couldn't resist Schalke's call. He has reportedly signed a three-year contract with his new club.
Baumjohann is a product of the Schalke 04 youth academy and made his official debut with the Gelsenkirchen side at the age of only 16. The 22-year-old left the Konigsblauen for Moenchengladbach in 2007.
