Schalke After Valencia Striker Nikola Zigic - Report
The Gelsenkirchen side are eager to sign a new attacker...
According to a report in German newspaper TZ, ambitious Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 are closely monitoring the situation of Valencia striker Nikola Zigic.
The Gelsenkirchen side are keen to add a new striker to their squad following the expected departure of Kevin Kuranyi, who is being linked with a move to England, and Zigic is supposedly Schalke's primary transfer target.
The Serbian international joined Valencia from Racing Santander in the summer of 2007, but he has failed to live up the high expectations at the Europa League hopefuls so far.
Zigic has mainly been warming the bench this season and is reportedly eager to move on in order to get regular first team football elsewhere.
The report suggests that Valencia have set an €8 million asking price for the towering forward. It remains to be seen though whether Schalke are willing to match the Spanish side's demands.
