The experienced midfielder is on his way back after an injury lay-off...
Bundesliga table toppers Bayer Leverkusen have received some promising news from the treatment table in the build-up to the second half of the season.
Holding midfielder Simon Rolfes is on his way back after a two-month lay-off due to a knee injury. The Leverkusen skipper underwent surgery in October and has been out of action ever since.
The 27-year-old has returned to regular training and will probably make his comeback in the upcoming friendly match against Eredivisie outfit Twente on January 8.
Meanwhile, playmaker Renato Augusto is also expected to return to full match fitness in time for the first league game of 2010. Leverkusen's next Bundesliga match is the home game against Mainz on January 16.
