Sao Paulo Defender Miranda On Wolfsburg Radar - Report

The Brazilian defender could be on his way to Germany...

MIRANDA (SÃO PAULO_)
According to a report in Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg are closely monitoring the situation of Sao Paulo defender Miranda.

The reigning German champions are looking for a replacement for Andrea Barzagli, who recently expressed his desire to return to Italy, and head coach Armin Veh has reportedly made Miranda one of his main targets in the transfer market.

The Wolfe had initially set their sights on young defender Bendikt Hoewedes, but the Schalke star appears to be an unrealistic transfer target due to the Gelsenkirchen side's reluctance to let the defender leave.

The 25-year-old Miranda previously played in Europe at French side Sochaux, but returned to Brazil in 2006. The centre-back has developed into one of Sao Paulo's star players ever since.

Wolfsburg are reportedly ready to table an €8 million offer for the Brazilian international.
