German powerhouse Bayern Munich thrashed Bochum 5-1 on Saturday to cap a superb week with yet another victory. Striker Mario Gomez scored once and was absolutely delighted with his side's results from last week.

"It's been another great week, with plenty of goals away from home. We have another very, very important game next Saturday, and we're determined to win it," Gomez said during the after match press conference.

"I don't think we'll make it to top spot before Christmas now, but we still have the whole of the second half of the season. We've dropped too many points up to now.

"We had new players, a new coach, and a new system, so it wasn't easy. But if we concentrate and everyone gives their all, players of this quality are going to be successful.

"We've hit our stride, we're playing good football, and we're scoring freely too. They're well-worked goals we're scoring too, there's nothing lucky about them. We've won nothing yet, but we're well on track."
