Bundesliga Sunday Round-Up: Kiessling Hits Treble as Leverkusen Hammer Stuttgart, Bayern Cruise in Hannover
Stefan Kiessling hit a hat-trick for Leverkusen and Bayern made easy work of Hannover in the AWD Arena.
Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 Stuttgart
Leverkusen cruised to an easy victory today against struggling Stuttgart. Stefan Kiessling scored his league-leading 10th goal early on and Eren Derdiyok struck to double Leverkusen's lead before the break.
Kiessling struck again after the break to make it 3-0 and completed his hat trick in the 87th minute after converting a penalty. Kiessling took a bow for the home fans in the last minute as he was replaced by Patrick Helmes, who made his first appearance since recovering from a knee injury.
Hannover 0-3 Bayern Munich
Hannover matched their guests in midfield but were unable to score and fell victims to Bayern's clinical finishing. Thomas Mueller opened the scoring in the 19th minute and Ivica Olic doubled the advantage just after the break. After going 2-0 ahead, Bayern were content to defend their lead and Hannover could do little to break their guests' defense. Mario Gomez added a third in injury time to cap off a well-deserved victory.
