Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich lock horns with table-toppers Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, and goalkeeper Hans-Joerg Butt has been quick to highlight the importance of the game.

"We know the situation well. There was an international break before we faced Dortmund, and we won that game 5-1. It helps that we’re playing on Sunday this time - it gives us an extra day together," Butt said on FCB's official website.

"But in any case, there can be no more excuses. Leverkusen are a direct rival, we’re at home – we have to win, that’s all there is to it.

"Bayern have a near flawless record at home to Bayer and we’ll do whatever it takes to leave it like that. Leverkusen are six points ahead of us and we’re well into the season now. We can’t afford to drop any more points," the goalkeeper continued.

"We'll pick up the full three points because of the way Leverkusen play. I don’t think they’ll come to the Allianz Arena and defend, they’ll try and play football, which helps us. We’ve had all sorts of problems against defensive teams recently."
