Werder Bremen striker Claudio Pizarro is toiling with a foot injury.
The Peruvian received treatment on Thursday morning at the Weserstadion but flew to Munich to see Dr. Mueller-Wohlfahrt shortly afterwards.
“We want to use all our options to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible. He will continue his rehab for one week in Munich,” head coach Thomas Schaaf told the club's official website.
It remains unclear if that is enough time for Werder’s most dangerous striker to be ready for the game at Freiburg on November 21.
“It really hasn’t gotten that much better as I hoped. I don’t know if I can be back in one or two days. That’s why I’m flying to Munich,” Pizarro said before his departure.
